Eric and I played in a poker tournament tonight at the Bent Oak golf course in Oak Grove, MO. Eric came in 3rd place, which earned him 4 free rounds of golf and 2 dozen golf balls. Not bad, Eric.

When I ordered my engagement ring (and wedding band) on Saturday, I had to leave my current engagement ring (and diamond) at the store. That's left my hand feeling very bare lately. Since it will be 6-8 weeks for me to get my new rings, I decided to purchase a cheap imitation ring to wear in the meantime. Apparently $10 at Claire's can buy a pretty decent knock-off. I know the picture is small and blury, but even close up this ring has managed to fool more than a few people. Who would have thought?

Today was another uneventful day. Other than work, the only thing I accomplished was an update to my blog.

Sunday, Mar 4

Tonight I went to the church that I grew up in for the first time in a very long time. (Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene)

When I turned 15, I remember being alone in the santuary, standing by one of the stone facade walls on the stage. For some reason, I pulled out a little stone from the wall, wrote my initials and date, and hid it back in the cracks of the wall. For the last (almost) 15 years, I've never forgotten the EXACT spot where I hid that little stone, and have often wondered if it was still there.

It is.


Not wanting to spoil the fun, I flipped it over and wrote today's month/year on it and hid it back in the same spot.


Since I was 15 when I first hid this stone, and that was 15 years ago... I guess I'll wait another 15 years to see if it's still there. Time will tell...

We bought the dress today! Iwas finally able to try it on in the color I wanted, and I've decided it's "the one". Here are my fiancé-safe sneak previews:

In addition to the dress, we bought my wedding rings today too! In lieu of my own pictures (that I didn't take), I've copied a picture from the designer's website: www.scottkeating.com/bridal.htm

My engagement ring will be the one pictured in the middle below. Instead of the diamond bands pictured for a wedding band, I'm getting a plain white gold band to match. (I'm planning that Eric will upgrade it to a diamond band for our one year anniversary.) ;)

Tonight was yet another tournament as part of our poker league, where I unfortunately couldn't make anything happen. I'm falling behind in the overall standings... so I need to make a big move next month!

Now that I'm getting back into the routine after my cruise, I'm remembering that it's not always easy to find things to photograph every day. So today I'm resorting to another self-portrait while I'm in the car. That's exactly how exciting my day was today.
